Jak zaistalowac Javę na FC5 64 bit. Szukałem na forum a le jednoznacznej odpowiedzi nie znalazłem.

Ściągasz -> instalujesz -> tworzysz dowiązanie plugina Javy do katalogu wtyczek Firefoksa.

 

Jeśli chodzi o tamten program, który sie nie da skompilować, to radzę wgrać db4-devel. Powinno śmignąć

Java jest, ale GCJ (część GCC), a nie ta Sunowska. Java od GNU wprawdzie ma wtyczkę do przeglądarek, ale działa ona na razie tylko z pełnymi prawami roota.

RPM z sun.com powoduje problemy. Należy stosować się do wskazówek z FAQ (nie wiem tylko, czy te z FC4 pasują do FC5 :/).

Ja bym miał taką małą propozycję, żeby nowych pytających się jak coś skompilować, pytać co chcą kompilować. Instalacja programów poprzez Yuma, powinna wystarczyć dla nowych użytkowników, przynajmniej takie jest moje zdanie.
