Witam.

Na serwerze mam Red Hata w wersji Enterprise. Od pewnego czasu nie uruchamiają się "iksy" (Xcfe).

Po wpisaniu w konsoli startx środowisko graficzne startuje, pojawia się niebieski ekran, wskaźnik myszy i to wszystko.

Można czekać i czekać a iksy nie wystartują.

Dołączam plik konfiguracyjny "iksów" jak i plik loga

Chwila... X != XFCE. Iksy, czyli serwer grafiki, najwyraźniej startuje. Coś się stało z XFCE, ale co -- tego nie znajdziesz w logach XFree.

Najpierw spróbuj xinit zamiast startx i zobacz czy da się uruchomić manager okien xfwm4;

Potem przenieś gdzieś lub przemianuj kartoteki konfiguracyjne użytkownika związane z xfce: ~/.config/xfce4* i uruchom startx. Sądzę że pomoże.

Wielkie dzięki za próbę pomocy, ale nie pomogło.

Więc wpisałem xinit zamiast startx i uruchomiło się jakieś "okienko". Potem przy próbie uruchomienia manager'a xfwm4 dostałem komunikat:

Takie moje wtrącenie-w logach iksów widać (WW)-bad vbios checksum error czy jakoś tak. Gdyby to był zwykły komputer, to przywróciłbym ustawienia domyślne biosu i pewnie byłoby po sprawie. Tylko, że to serwer z załączonym raid'em więc mam stracha to zrobić :rolleyes:

Macie jeszcze jakieś pomysły czy tylko reinstalacja iksów?

Twój menedżer okien (xfwm4) nie chce pracować z rozszerzeniem Composite i ignoruje je. Możesz wyłączyć Composite w pliku /etc/X11/xorg.conf, czy tam /etc/X11/XFree86.conf, bo zdaje się że masz stare X11.

Natomiast błąd który go wywala jest spowodowany nieistnieniem jakiegoś pliku. Może on, choć nie musi, być związany z opcjami umieszczonymi w xorg.conf. Podmień ten plik konfiguracyjny na najprostszy możliwy, w końcu dojdziesz do jakiegoś wniosku.

Albo xfwm jest zdekompletowany -- wtedy go przeinstaluj.

No stare. System ma z parę lat. Robiła to pewna firma i wolę tego nie tykać.

Głupie może pytanie- jak mam to wyłączyć w /etc/X11/xorg.conf bo lini typu "Xcomposite" tam nie widzę :rolleyes:

Masz rację. Nie masz włączonego Composite,a WM mówi tyko że nie może z niego skorzystać. Włącz
