Bo glx juz problemów nie sprawia widze. Popraw xorga jak wertjacek wspomnial powyzej i jesli faktycznie nadal jest problem z 800x600 u jednego usera wklej xorg.0.log. Nie czytałem całego wątku, ale na Twoim miejscu wygenerowałbym xorga poleceniem nvidia-xconfig, potem restart i na końcu ustawiłbym rozdzielczość w panelu nvidii nvidia-settings (można wymusić w zakładce X Server Display Configuration i opcja Advance).
