podczas rozruchu, przed zalogowaniem pojawia się wśród całej masy poprawnych jak sądzę komunikatów jeden sygnalizujący brak czegoś (na czerwono)

Czy komuś udało się uruchomić wifi pod fedorą? Jak postanowiłam się przesiąść z win na linuksa to czytałam o różnych dystrybucjach i ta wydawała mi się najbardziej odpowiednia dla laptopów zaraz po ubuntu-tylko, że w przypadku ubuntu ostrzegano,że niszczy dyski laptopów (system parkowania głowic). Mam więc nadzieję, że wifi ruszy (???)

Nadal nie zainstalowałaś ndiswrapper. Zanim jednak to zrobisz powiedz, czy modem ten posiada złącze PCMCIA. Jeśli tak i (jak mówisz) jest on już widziany przez system (choć jako inny model), wyjmij go z gniazda, z roota odpal "tail -f /vat/log/messages" podłącz modem i wklej nam wszystko, co pojawi się w konsoli.

Jeśli masz taki chipset to są dwie metody albo instalować kmod-ndiswrapper albo używać b43.

Poza tym powinnaś pobrać sterowniki do swojej karty sieciowej stąd.

Jeśli nie interesuje Cie korzystanie z windowsowych sterowników to wtedy trzeba się zainteresować b43, prawdopodobnie jest zainstalowany tylko wymaga uruchomienia.

Tak, karta podpięta jest pod gniazdo PCMCiA.

Po wyciagnięciu i włożeniujest nieaktywna. Pomaga restart kompa. Za pierwszym razem po wyciągnięciu karty cały system się zawiesił-potrzebny był restart. A to z konsoli po wyciągnięciu karty:

Podpowiedzcie czy mam rację:

1. ściągam z sieci: bcm43xx-fwcutter-004.tar

2. instaluję na kompie takim poleceniem: 'sudo b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware driver/wl_apsta_mimo.o'

czy tak?

Tu wszystko muszę robić po omacku - wiem wiem powiecie żebym poczytała manuala, ale najpierw muszę uruchomić wifi bo bez tego nie mogę zrobić kroku do przodu, że nie wspomną o terminach w plecy po przesiadce na linuksa (sama tego chciałaś...)

b ) dodać b43 do blacklisty i zainstalować kmod-ndiswrapper

A bardziej łopatologicznie - co to dodać do black listy? jak zainstalować kmod-ndiswrapper?. b43 chyba przeinstalowałam, tzn. ściagnęłam b43-fwcutter, rozpakowałam - tylko jak sprawdzić gdzie są te rozpakowane pliki? i czy rzeczywiście b43 jest zainstalowane? Jest w linuksie jakiś folder domyślny, w którym przchowywane są drivery?

Prawdopodobnie plik nie rozpakował się do katalogu /lib/firmware driver/ szczególnie jeśli polecenie roztarowania archiwum wydałaś jako zwykły użytkownik a nie root.

Polecenie locate wskaże Ci miejsce, w którym jest plik wraz z pełną ścieżką - ten wynik podaj jako parametr w poleceniu zamiast "/lib/firmware driver/wl_apsta_mimo.o"
