pozdro z Fedory 30

Ktoś się już zdecydował na aktualizację? Ja dla odmiany zainstalowałem na czysto, żeby sprawdzić też instalator. Jest w nim jedno nowum. Można kliknąć zablokowanie konta roota przy nadawaniu mu hasła (zapewne odpowiednik "usermod -L", ale nie wiem na pewno). Gnome 3.32 jest śliczny i w ogóle, ale to wiedziałem już wcześniej.  Nie znalazłem niczego, co działałoby gorzej niż na F29.

Na następnej wersji sprawdzę Modularity / App Stream, czyli możliwość zostawienia sobie starszej wersji, np.: Pythona, czy PHP z poprzedniej wersji Fedory. Wygląda to całkiem nieźle.

Brak jeszcze przygotowanego rpmfusion, no ale to jeszcze ponad miesiąc do wydania. Od jakiegoś czasu na Fedorach są instalowane kodeki do mp3jek, więc wielkiej biedy nie ma.

Odkryłem przy okazji testowania ciekawy i szybki sposób na aktualizację Fedory. 

rpm -e --nodeps fedora-release fedora-release-notes fedora-release-server
sudo dnf install --allowerasing --releasever=30 fedora-gpg-keys fedora-release
yum update
reboot

Z jakiegoś powodu podczas wyłączania obydwu testowanych hostów Fedora długo myślała jak zamknąć sesję użytkownika o ID 1000 (czyli moją), ale kolejne rebooty odbywają się prawidłowo. Zaznaczam, że nie używam rpmfusion (ani w ogóle żadnych dodatkowych repozytoriów) i pewnie dlatego idzie gładko.

Ja jak zwykle próbuję najpierw na VirtualBox.

Upgrade poszedł bez problemów, ale VB chyba jeszcze nieprzygotowany na nowy kernel. Nie mogę zainstalować VBoxGuestAdditions. kompilacja kończy się błędem

Dziwne. Wszedłem, żeby się pokombinować z rozwiązaniem z linku, który podałeś a tu niespodzianka :) Ekran ładnie zaczął się dopasowywać do wielkości okna.

Błąd nadal się pojawia, więc nie mam dostępu do folderów hosta, ale da się z tym żyć. W końcu to tylko maszynka do testowania nowej Fedory. Po premierze pewnie będzie już ok.

Dzisiaj w pracy zaktualizowałem Fedorę do trzydziechy. Nikt nie zauważył, bo i nie oderwałem się od roboty ani na chwilę. Trochę się cykałem przez rebootem, ale poszło gładziudko. Nawet moduł virtualboksa ładnie się zbudował.

U mnie niestety nie wszystko działa. Przestał działać dźwięk przez hdmi na grafice intela (xeon e3-1245v3). Pulseaudio widzi hdmi i odtwarza ale dźwięk się nie wydobywa z głośników.

Wyjście analogowe działa bez problemu.

Nie mam telewizora, ani rzutnika, żeby sprawdzić, ale mam Intela e3-1200. Możliwe, że używamy tego samego sterownika. Jeśli możesz, podaj proszę wynik:

Zgłoszę błąd na bugzilli. Doinstaluj sobie też pavucontrol, może nie każdy tester używa Twojego pulpitu.

pavucontrol mam oczywiście zainstalowany, wyjście HDMI jest widoczne i mogę je wybrać.

Najdziwniejsze, że wszystkie wersje programów z F30 (kernel, alsa, pulseaudio) są takie same jak na F29 więc ciężko mi stwierdzić co może być przyczyną.

Dodatkowy objaw przy wybranym dźwięku HDMI odtwarzane filmy np. z YouTube przycinają się, odtwarzają  w zwolnionym tempie lub w ogóle nie chcą się odtwarzać.

Ok dopisałem się do buga na bugzilli. Tylko nie jestem przekonany czy to wina pulseaudio. Generalnie wersje kernela, alsa i pulseaudio są takie same w F29 i F30 więc teoretycznie nic nie powinno się zmienić, no ale z jakiegoś powodu nie działa. Zainstalowałem z F29 kernel,  alsa i pulseaudio, ale nic to nie zmieniło.
